We scope, design, build, test and maintain software for the operations off-the-shelf products never quite fit — then stay on to support it after launch.
Most businesses do not need more software. They need one system that matches the way work already flows through the building — the approvals, the exceptions, the workaround someone keeps in a notebook. That is what custom development is for, and it is the only reason to pay for it.
A WizeCodeLabs engagement starts with a discovery pass over your real process: who enters what, where numbers get reconciled, which report someone rebuilds by hand every month. We turn that into a written scope with a fixed price and a delivery date, then build in two-week increments with a working demo at the end of each one, so nothing is a surprise at handover.
Scope, architecture, build, test, deploy, maintain — one team accountable for the whole thing rather than a handover between agencies.
Operations, inventory, HR, billing and approval workflows that replace the spreadsheet nobody else is allowed to touch.
Connecting the systems you already pay for — accounting, POS, payment gateways, SMS and email providers, courier and logistics APIs.
Rebuilding legacy applications and migrating their data without losing history, usually in phases so the business keeps running.
Defect fixes, dependency and security updates, backup verification and a named contact — not a ticket queue.
A discovery-only engagement when you need the scope, architecture and an honest cost range before committing to a build.
Every engagement is delivered as a complete product rather than a pile of code: the application itself, the database behind it, the admin tooling your team needs to run it without calling us, and the documentation to hand to a new hire.
Discovery, then design, then build, then support. Discovery produces a scope document you could take to another firm for a second quote — we would rather lose a bid than start a project on a guess. Design settles the data model and the screens before the expensive part begins.
The build runs in two-week increments against a shared backlog. You see working software, not a status report, and priorities can be reordered between increments at no cost. After launch we run a warranty window on defects, then an optional monthly support agreement covering fixes, hosting checks and a budget of small changes.
We deliberately keep a narrow, deep stack rather than claiming every framework in existence. Web applications and APIs are built in Python with Django and Django REST Framework; front ends in React with modern tooling; data in PostgreSQL. That is the stack this website and our client systems run on, so support does not depend on one person who happens to know a niche language.
Where a project genuinely needs something else — a mobile app, a hardware integration, a reporting warehouse — we say so during discovery and scope it explicitly instead of forcing it into the same box.
If a well-supported product already does 90% of what you need, buying it and configuring it well is cheaper and faster than building. We will tell you that. Custom development earns its cost when the remaining 10% is the part your business competes on, when per-user licence fees have overtaken a one-off build, or when your process is genuinely unusual and every product forces you to work around it.
